I was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany – and I still call this beautiful city home.

 

Even back in school, I was fascinated by what happens behind the scenes of a film. That curiosity led me to internships at production and postproduction houses, as well as a major film studio complex. After graduating, I started a two-year apprenticeship at a small postproduction company in Hamburg, where I was later hired full-time. I worked as an online and offline editor for commercials, music videos, and corporate films.

 

Eventually, I took the leap into freelancing – and since then, I’ve edited countless projects across the music and advertising industries. My true passion, though, has always been editing commercials. With over 25 years of experience and as one of the first freelance editors in Germany to work with Avid, I’ve learned to stay calm and focused no matter how intense a project gets.

 

I’ve worked in nearly every major city in Germany, in most European countries, and around the world – including China, the United States, Japan, Lebanon, and South Africa.

In addition to my editing work, I also teach film editing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

 

My main tools are Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro. I also have a fully mobile editing setup that lets me work independently on set, in hotel rooms, or even at the beach.

I speak both German and English.
